Providing a more stable and secure alternative to traditional bridges, implant-retained bridges offer a durable solution to the problem of missing teeth.

Traditionally, bridges are held in place using the neighbouring healthy teeth as support. This support usually comes in the form of crowns, or in some cases; it could be a metal or porcelain support structure such as a wing. With implant-retained bridges, we can replace one or several missing teeth at a time without affecting the neighbouring teeth.

Benefits:

  • Long-lasting solution.
  • Stable, secure, and supportive of neighbouring teeth.
  • Preserves and protects the jawbone.
  • Supports the structures of the face.
  • Look, feel and act just as natural teeth do.
  • Aesthetically pleasing.
  • Smile with confidence.
  • Eat and chew easily and confidently.

FAQs

How many teeth can an implant retained bridge replace?

We can use implant retained bridges to replace 2-6 missing teeth, although in most cases, we use this replacement option for 3 or 4 teeth.

How long does the treatment take?

As with most implant treatments, you should expect the whole treatment to take 3-5 months from start to finish.

Who is this treatment suitable for?

This treatment is suitable for patients with multiple missing teeth, although we will first have to establish your viability at a consultation via X-rays and/or CBCT scans. If we find any bone loss in the area, we will first place a synthetic biomaterial in the jaw area to replace and recreate what has been lost.

Is the treatment painful?

Receiving implants can be a daunting prospect for patients, but rest assured that we’ll ensure you’re comfortable and pain-free throughout the treatment.

What is the recovery process like?

You will likely experience some pain and discomfort at the site of implantation after your treatment. This is completely normal and usually goes away within 2-3 days. You can use over-the-counter medications such as paracetamol or ibuprofen to treat it and a steroid to keep discomfort to a minimum. If pain persists any longer than 2-3 days, however, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
